Make an impact! Gain skills! By applying for and carrying out a DGP project, you’ll be honing skills such as grant writing, project management, and group facilitation.
We don't look for a specific format of project – as long as your project meets our guidelines (listed on the main DGP page), we'll consider it! We also have a page with examples of past projects, as well as a sample agenda that you can refer to in your application process.
No, but experience with facilitation or group leadership (e.g. as a TA, camp counselor, etc.) is strongly encouraged. If you are interested in strengthening your intergroup dialogue facilitation skills, consider enrolling in Psych 103F (students) or STARS: Train the Trainer (staff and faculty), both of which are offered through our office.
Funds may be used for direct costs related to the proposed project, such as food or catering, supplies (printouts, books, etc.) and room rentals. Funds may not be used for alcohol, speaker honoraria, equipment purchases, personal stipends, merchandise, raffles, or transportation expenses.
We encourage you to engage community members from your student organizations, department, cohort, lab residences, classes, friend groups, etc. We also encourage publicizing the event more widely to attract any member of the Stanford community.
